Georgia is located in the Caucasus, west of the Black Sea and south of Russia. Georgia is a land of high adventure, an ancient culture, more than a few challenges, and wonderful food & wine, but more than anything else, it has high mountains & loads of snow.
Georgia's largest & most popular ski resort is Gudauri in the Greater Caucasus, just north of Tbilisi. Gudauri ski resort has a top elevation of 3,250m & a 1,250m skiable vertical. A modern lift infrastructure, 60km(ish) of piste, longest piste trail of 7km, massive side & backcountry freeride terrain.
Many options combining ski lift access and skins, leaving us a lot of terrain to explore close to the resort, like Mount Bidara(3220m), Kobi Gorge(3255m), Milioni Gorge (3270m), …. We´ll skin up from Lomisi church (1400m) to an ancient Orthodox Lomisi monastery(2200m), where the monks live there all year around with no road to get there.
Since everything is very close we don't need to rent a car, the day we need one, we´ll use a taxi.
