Sydpilaren or the South Pilar of Stetind is the most famous proper climbing route on Stetind and probably in Norway. It is a real classic, worthy of its reputation. From a distance it doesn´t look easily accesible, with the route twisting up the large granite slabs on the pillar in the middle of the Routh west wall. But a system of ledges gives access to the pillar, and the starting point of the route. Two other big ledge systems cross the route higher up.

The South Pillar of Stetind is a physical demanding climb and requires climbers to be comfortable following Norwegian Grade 6 rock climbing. Please contact us if you have any questions on your skill level.
